SAN FRANCISCO (KGO) -- The final phase of construction is about to begin for San Francisco's new General Hospital.
When it opens next Spring, the medical center will double the number of emergency rooms, beds and add more trauma and operating rooms.
The intensive care unit will have smart beds to monitor patients' comfort. Plus, there will be a rooftop garden for visitors.
The public will be able to see the hospital during a dedication ceremony on Saturday.
