SAN FRANCISCO (KGO) -- Authorities say a mother and her child were hit by a vehicle while walking outside Stonestown Galleria Mall in San Francisco.



According to police, the 45-year-old woman and her 5-year-old daughter were in the crosswalk at Buckingham Way and 20th Avenue when an 86-year-old woman driving a white SUV hit them.

Authorities say the mother sustained non-life threatening injuries, but the child sustained life-threatening injuries.



Police say the driver remained at the scene and is cooperating.
