SAN JOSE, Calif. (KGO) -- The Quakes opened up their inaugural match at Avaya Stadium and beat Chicago Fire with a 2-1 victory Sunday afternoon.

Avaya Stadium has a number of firsts:

  • It's the Bay Area's first-ever soccer-specific stadium.

  • It's the first cloud-enabled professional sports venue.

  • It has the largest outdoor bar in the United States.

  • The $100 million Avaya Stadium, which is located near Interstate 880 and Highway 87, also has an open-air canopy roof and the steepest seats in the league, so you always feel on top of the action.
