SAN JOSE, Calif. (KGO) -- A young man from San Jose embodies the holiday spirit of giving.

ABC7 News was in the South Bay on Friday with 10-year-old Joey Childs who, believe it or not, has been collecting toys for needy kids for five years.

He's part of the Marine Corps' Toys for Tots campaign. Joey says helping out makes him feel good.

"There are other kids that are underprivileged kids that don't have as much stuff as us do. So I try to collect as many toys for them so they don't feel left out and they're happy for Christmas."

Joey says that so far this year, he's collected 150 toys.

Donations are being accepted through December 23. New and unwrapped toys can be dropped off at the family's business:
