SANTA CLARA, Calif. -- Santa Clara University held a groundbreaking ceremony Tuesday for a new soccer training facility.

The center will be built thanks to a $7.7 million gift from venture capitalists Mark and Mary Stevens., Santa Clara alum.

The money will also be used to renovate the soccer stadium and create a plaza to honor past soccer greats from the school.

SCU has a rich soccer tradition, and both the men and women's teams have won national titles.
