Traffic snarled on Hwy 17 due to downed power lines
Traffic is snarled on Highway 17 in the Santa Cruz Mountains due to a downed tree and downed power lines.

SANTA CLARA COUNTY, Calif. -- Both northbound and southbound lanes of state Highway 17 in the Santa Cruz Mountains are open this morning, according to the California Highway Patrol.



A fallen tree and downed power lines had closed the entire road since about 4:30 a.m.
