Missing Walnut Creek woman found alive in a ravine

WALNUT CREEK, Calif. (KGO) -- A missing 74-year-old woman has been found safe. Valentina Matyushina went missing Friday afternoon. She speaks only Russian and suffers from dementia.

Valentina was located late Sunday night down a ravine in a heavily wooded area off Lakewood Circle. Firefighters pulled her out and placed Valentina in an ambulance.

There is no word yet on her condition.

Police were alerted by a resident who saw Valentina in the area over the weekend.
