After a chaotic and entertaining college football regular season, we have finally arrived at championship weekend. Many matchups could shake up the college football playoff race before Selection Sunday.
The No. 1 Georgia Bulldogs face the No. 3 Alabama Crimson Tide in the SEC title game. Next, the No. 4 Cincinnati Bearcats can punch their ticket to the playoff with a win against the No. 21 Houston Cougars in the AAC championship. Finally, the No. 5 Oklahoma State Cowboys need to defeat the No. 9 Baylor Bears in the Big 12 final, along with some help to sneak into the final four.
Some schools took the time to prepare some exceptional outfits for their title games. From throwback concepts to out-of-this-world accessories, certain squads stood apart from the rest in terms of style and fashion.
Here are some of the best looks from championship weekend around college football:
The No. 10 Oregon Ducks have been the unofficial kings of uniform ensembles for a while, and they didn't disappoint with their fit for Friday night against No. 17 Utah.
To complement the look, players can wear new Nike Galaxy Vaporposite cleats. The shoe design and galaxy print on the footwear are inspired by the widely popular Nike Air Foamposite "Galaxy" sneakers released in Feb. 2012.
The No. 4 Bearcats are seeing red with their championships threads.
The UTSA Roadrunners also used one hue for most of their fit, with a splash of orange for vibrancy.
The Bears of Baylor went with an all-white look, and the hints of green offer a minty feel to this combination.
Not only is the bright color palette for Kent State's uniforms worth noting, but so is the helmet decal. This year's squad is honoring the 1972 MAC championship team by wearing the same logo those Golden Flashes did when they won the title that season.
Appalachian State Mountaineers took to the winter forest to reveal their championship threads featuring a sweet matte black lid.
The chrome domes return for the Western Kentucky Hilltoppers, complemented by an icy all-white fit for the C-USA title game.
Although it is not a championship game, the California Golden Bears deserve some love for their wardrobe selection this week. They pulled out their annual Joe Roth Throwbacks for their game against USC.
