Thought-controlled bionic arm helps man with missing hand

SAN FRANCISCO (KGO) -- The same sort of technology that finds your friends in Facebook photos and unlocks your phone with a fingerprint is helping a Bay Area man in a much different way.

"I was the quintessential kind of lemonade stand kid. I was always trying to come up with some scheme to make money," said Evan Kimbrell who was born with the entrepreneurial spirit but also, without a left hand.

Now, the head of his own internet start-up , this latest innovation from the company COAPT uses electrical impulses when Evan's brain tells his muscles to flex and translate those into robotic hand movements.
