Research touts health benefits of treadmill desks
Researchers say a treadmill desk could be the key to keeping workers fit in more ways than one.

We know that sitting too long isn't good for our health, so the latest and greatest path to health may be at your desk.



Researchers say a treadmill desk is the key to keeping fit in more ways than one.



The first reason is obvious -- you burn calories while you work because the desk forces you to stand up and walk while typing away.



Second, research shows people who read and check email at a treadmill desk do better on tests of memory and attention.



And third, it increases productivity, helping people get almost 2 percent more work done per hour, compared to those who sit.
