PG&E crews brace for hottest temperatures in over a decade
PG&E crews powered up a second, larger backup generator, in an attempt to try to keep the lights on in downtown Livermore. Many businesses around First Street were still closed, with intermittent electricity, since Sunday.
On Sunday, 10 cities set new heat records: San Rafael, Moffett Field, Livermore, Kentfield, Richmond, San Francisco, SFO Airport, Oakland Airport, San Jose and Gilroy.

Back in Livermore, Bruno's Italian cuisine is back open after closing right before last night's Father's Day dinner service - which cost the restaurant thousands of dollars.
"It's stressful because you don't know when the power is coming back, you don't know if you send employees home," explained Fernando Oliveira with Bruno's.
PG&E meteorologist Scott Strenfel forecasts Thursday to be the hottest day of the work week. He says this is the most impactful heat event since 2006.
With more than 100,000 Bay Area outages on Sunday, Strenfel says he's trying to help PG&E crews stage in the hottest spots.

"Some of these crews, which may be stationed in San Francisco, where they were not expecting much outage activity will probably be moved into areas were expecting more outage activity," he said.
Meanwhile, PG&E says it is, "focused on making things right for residents, businesses and others who suffered financial losses resulting from an outage." To see if you qualify for any compensation, click here.
