EAST OAKLAND, Calif. (KGO) -- Oakland police have released the name of the suspect arrested in the death of a mother of four.

Carl Stephen Dubose, 20, was taken into custody in Elk Grove just south of Sacramento on Wednesday. Dubose is accused of shooting 30-year-old Perla Avina when she was riding in a car on 98th avenue on Sunday afternoon.

Investigators have recovered the vehicle and a firearm they say was involved in the shooting.

They are crediting information from the public in making the arrest.

"I do want to thank the community for their support in providing this information. It's been instrumental in this case and several others, but obviously it doesn't happen in every case," said Chief Sean Whent with the Oakland Police Department.

It's being described as a road rage shooting. Avina's husband Luis Lopez Gallegos says the Dubose did not like the way Gallegos was driving and opened fire. The couple was driving home from the grocery story.
