VALLEJO, Calif. -- Solano County sheriff's officials said Tuesday a woman who was found shot to death in a car in unincorporated Vallejo on Monday was targeted.

The suspect in the slaying was described by witnesses as a tall, skinny male who was wearing a gray hooded sweatshirt, sheriff's Deputy Christine Castillo said.

The suspect was seen entering a blue or silver sedan that fled the area south on Sperry Avenue immediately after the shooting, Castillo said.

The victim was identified as 21-year-old A'Tierra Westbrook. She was found in the driver's seat of a white sedan after gunshots were heard in the 300 block of Benicia Road.

Westbrook's car struck a parked car after she was hit multiple times by gunfire, Castillo said. She died at the scene.

Anyone with information about the case is asked to call the sheriff's office's investigation bureau at (707) 784-7050 or Crime Stoppers at (707) 644-STOP (7867) to remain anonymous.
