Two dead, five injured in Oakland

Police are investigating at least five shootings in Oakland that occurred within less than 18 hours Friday and today and left at least two people dead and five more injured, officials said.

A drive-by shooting in the 9000 and 9100 blocks of Hillside Street claimed two victim's lives shortly after 2 a.m. today, according to police.

Officers responded to another shooting today at about 12:20 a.m. in the 3100 block of 14th Avenue, according to officials.

The one victim injured in that shooting was reportedly in stable condition, police said.

Officers responded to a shooting at about 10:10 p.m. Friday in the 1600 block of 11th Street where two victims had been injured, police said.

At about 1:20 p.m. Friday, officers responded to the 500 block of 58th Street and found a victim suffering gunshot wounds, police said.

That victim's condition was unknown.

At about 10:30 a.m. Friday, officers responded to the 8300 block of International Boulevard where one victim had been shot, police said.

That victim suffered minor injuries, according to police.
