Spare the Air Day Thursday

Hot temperatures and light winds are expected to produce unhealthy air throughout the region Thursday, prompting the Air Quality District to urge residents to cut down on fuel use.

To help prevent smog, residents are encouraged to drive less, take public transit, walk, bike, carpool, link necessary trips and postpone errands if possible.

Bay Area transit agencies will not offer free transportation Thursday.
