Deputies responded to several reports of a shooting at about 10:50 p.m. near the intersection of Madeline Drive and Staples Avenue in the Alum Rock neighborhood of San Jose, Santa Clara County sheriff's Sgt. Don Morrissey said.
The victim, a man whose name has not been released, died of gunshot wounds, Morrissey said.
He did not have additional details on the shooting but said investigators were still at the scene shortly before 8 a.m. Wednesday.
