The state legislature is considering a bill that would require you to pay 25 cents for every disposable grocery bag you use. That money would go toward getting rid of litter and cleaning up landfills.

There's so many recalls these days it's hard to keep track of what's safe to buy or eat and what is not. A proposal introduced in Sacramento, would require grocery stores to enter codes for recalled products into their checkout scanners.

That way it flags the item so you won't buy it by mistake.
