It happened on Cherry Street after midnight, when a stolen minivan police were chasing hit a fire hydrant and rolled over several times.
Police say the minivan and its driver were carjacked at a Foodmax Supermarket minutes before the crash. Groceries were scattered across the road at the crash scene.
The suspect suffered major injuries and was transported to Eden Hospital. The carjacking victim was also sent to the hospital with minor injuries.
