Detective Cpl. John Garcia said the 60-year-old victim was trying to find her motel, the Vallejo Inn in south Vallejo Saturday night.

She drove to the Discount Gas Station at Magazine Street and Sonoma Boulevard for directions and was confronted by the male suspect as she backed out of the parking lot, Garcia said.

The suspect asked her for a ride and when the woman refused he entered her vehicle through the passenger door and told her to drive to a secluded area at Country Lane and Maritime Academy Lane, Garcia said.

The suspect shoved the woman out of the vehicle and forced her to a grassy area with trees and shrubs, Garcia said. The suspect then raped and sodomized the woman for several minutes, sustaining scratches and abrasions on her body.

Police responded to the Vallejo Inn after receiving a report of a sexual assault around 12:15 a.m. Sunday, Garcia said.

The suspect is a clean-shaven black male in his 20s, 6 feet, 120-130 pounds with a thin build and closely braided black hair, police said.

He was wearing a dark blue baseball cap with no logo, a dark jacket, dark hooded sweater with flower type print, dark baggie pants and white shoes, police said.

Anyone with information is asked to call Cpl. Garcia at (707) 648-4517 or Sgt. Kevin Bartlett at (707) 648-4524.

Anonymous information can also be given through the Crime Stoppers Tip Line at (707) 644-STOP.
