The suit contends the outdoor clothing and equipment company made unsubstantiated claims about the beneficial health benefits of its footwear.

The environmental protection agency says the company claimed the footwear would prevent disease-causing bacteria.

North Face has stopped making those claims and revised its packaging.

The company told ABC7 it disputes the findings, but still made the changes when notified of concerns.
