Cat de-claw bill approved in SF

It will soon be illegal to declaw a cat in San Francisco, under a bill approved by the Board of Supervisors.

San Francisco is one of several cities trying to ban the practice before a new state law takes effect in January -- the law will prevent municipalities from interfering with the work of veterinarians and health care workers.

Critics say de-clawing amounts to torture because a bone is amputated in the cat's paw.
