Getting rid of a big rock along Highway 50 in the Sierra, proved a bit more troublesome than expected.

Caltrans crews hoped the blast Tuesday morning would remove the 400-ton slab of granite teetering over the highway.

Crews tried again Tuesday afternoon, packing some more dynamite into the hillside. Video was taken and posted on the Caltrans website of the successful second attempt.

Caltrans expects no delays on Highway 50 on Tuesday night.
