About Sugajules Artisan Granola
Granola lovers have reason to rejoice. Now there's a new twist on their favorite morning meal that's transforming the humble breakfast staple into a gourmet treat to enjoy all day long. It's called Sugajules Artisan Granola, and it's likely to be the freshest, crunchiest, most deliciously addictive granola the average cereal bowl has ever seen.

It all started when San Francisco clinical pharmacist Julie Vu wanted to create a special Christmas gift for her family and friends. She set out to concoct the ultimate granola - and spent days mixing and measuring, testing and tasting until she came up with the perfect combination of flavors. That Christmas gift started a sensation. When strangers started calling and asking how they could get their own batch of granola goodness, she knew it was time to go into business.

Today, Julie's makes sure every batch is as special as her first. "By handcrafted, I mean my hands really do the crafting," Vu explains. "I hand-select the ingredients, I do the chopping, the toasting, the blending and personally inspect each and every batch." No wonder you can taste the TLC in every crunch. Sugajules' inaugural flavor, called The Whole Nine Yards, is a combination of pecans, almonds, cranberries and apricots in a crunchy-sweet granola base. Too good to restrict to the breakfast table, it's perfect as a topping for yogurt or ice cream or right out of the bag. Next up, Cherry On Top, features an addictive blend of cherries, pistachios, almonds and semi-sweet chocolate chips loaded with organic whole ground flax seeds.

Sugajules Artisan Granola is available in 2.3-oz single serve or 10-oz packages at Blue Fog Market and Lilah Belle's in San Francisco.

About Julie Vu
I came to the United States in 1975 after the Viet Nam War. My parents always taught me the importance of education, hard work and dedication. I graduated from California State University, Fullerton with a Bachelors of Art in Biology and a minor in Chemistry. I was very fascinated with science and health care, so I continued my education at the University of California, San Francisco School of Pharmacy and graduated with a Doctor of Pharmacy degree. Shortly after pharmacy school, I pursued a career within the pharmaceutical/biotechnology industry, as I wanted to incorporate science, health care and business.

Currently, I work at a Bay Area Biotechnology company as a Medical Science Liaison in Medical Affairs. As a Medical Science Liaison, I cover 7 states in which I spend my day (and often weekends) looking for new ways to better manage and treat patients with asthma and cystic fibrosis. However, when I am not traveling for work, I have a PASSION for baking and creating something from "scratch". I am also very fascinated by the chemistry of food.

I started making my granola about 7 years ago as a Christmas gift for my family and friends, which quickly grew into a large-scale project. Hence, Sugajules Artisan Granola was created about a year ago. I'm very excited about this, as I feel very lucky to be here and to live out the "American Dream".
