High winds knock out power around the Bay Area

A quick moving storm hit the Bay Area Friday with periods of heavy rain and high winds.

At the height of the storm, just under 26,000 PG&E customers were without power.

West Valley College in Saratoga was closed after the entire campus lost power. On a normal Friday, there are only about 200 students on campus, but the college was hosting a high school debate tournament that had to be postponed.

Currently, 944 people remain without power.

South Bay
644 customers are without power

Peninsula
85 customers are without power

East Bay
212 customers are without power

North Bay
4 customers are without power

San Francisco
0 customers are without power
