Gunnar Sandberg to undergo another surgery

May 27, 2010 1:09:41 AM PDT
Injured high school pitcher Gunnar Sandberg was due to undergo further surgery on Tuesday.

The Marin Catholic baseball player is having a piece of his skull replaced.

The bone was removed to relieve pressure in his brain, shortly after he was hit in the head by a line drive in March.

If things go well, in about a week Gunnar should be able to get rid of the helmet. He was seen wearing an A's helmet when he threw out the first pitch this past weekend at the Giants-A's game.
