The crane was reported tipped over at about 6:50 a.m. on eastbound Highway 80 just west of state Highway 4, CHP Officer A. Paulson said.
A non-injury crash occurred minutes earlier in the same area, but Paulson could not confirm if the crash was connected to the tipping over of the crane.
The crane is blocking the far left eastbound lane on the highway. A Sig-alert was issued at 7:16 a.m., according to Paulson. She said the lane could be blocked until after 9 a.m. while Caltrans responds and removes the equipment.
