Hamlin students serve lunch to homeless

SAN FRANCISCO

Hamlin students prepared a meal of lasagna, salad and smoothies and served the food to families living at the Hamilton Family Residences and Emergency Center. It is part of Hamlin School's yearly service project.

Students say the volunteer work is very fulfilling.

"It's a good thing to help the community. It's nice to give back," one student said.

Hamilton Family Residences provide short-term shelter and other support services including food, counseling, employment training and on-site medical services for homeless families. It also offers transitional housing for up to 18 months to families identified as being at high risk for chronic homelessness.
