Norovirus causes 65 kids to get ill at camp

PETALUMA, Calif.

Sixty-five fifth and sixth graders from Novato, Danville, and Oakland came down with flu-like symptoms last Wednesday at Walker Creek Ranch.

Many were treated by paramedics and sent home. Norovirus is a gastrointestinal infection and is easily transmitted from person to person.

Investigators say the food and water at the camp were safe and that the virus was likely from an infected student.
