Muni starts enforcing employee parking rules

SAN FRANCISCO

The San Francisco Municipal Transportation Agency had originally wanted to implement the program last September, but after outcry from workers, it pushed the start date to March 1. Now, Muni employees must pay $80 a month to park on department property.

The SFMTA is facing a $21.2 million shortfall this fiscal year. It expects to collect $1.2 million annually from its paid-parking program.
