Fireworks blamed for San Jose brush fire

SAN JOSE, Calif.

The fire started around 9:30 p.m. in the Silver Creek neighborhood, not far from several homes, but it was held it to just an acre.

Firefighters say they found firecrackers at the scene.

"We found evidence of used fireworks here on the grass and then after interviewing a resident he did see fireworks go off right here and then saw a group of kids run away from the scene," San Jose Fire Capt. Victor Polverino said.

Police are looking for those kids.
