Digital pill gets FDA approval

A company called Proteus Digital Health announced Wednesday that it's received FDA approval for a digital pill. That sends information to your doctor, from inside your body.

It carries a sensor the size of a grain of rice that can transmit real time data from a patch on your belly, to your health care provider, allowing rapid adjustment of medications and treatments.

The non-digestible sensor passes right through your digestive tract.

A similar pill's been available in Europe since last year.
