San Bernardino votes to slash over 100 jobs

SAN BERNARDINO, Calif.

The City Council made the decision on Wednesday as the city faces a $45.8 million budget shortfall.

Some jobs eliminated are positions within the San Bernardino Police Department. Cutbacks could also close three of the city's four libraries.

The council also voted to slash $20 million from the city's $166 million budget.

San Bernardino filed for Chapter 9 bankruptcy on Aug. 1. It is the third California city to file for bankruptcy this summer.
