Four Americans who were killed in an attack in Benghazi, Libya last week were honored in a memorial service in Tripoli Thursday.
Ambassador Chris Stevens and three of his colleagues died when a militant mob stormed the U.S. Consulate. It happened in the midst of protests over an anti-Islamic film produced in the US.
CNN is reporting Stevens believed he was being targeted by al Qaeda in the months leading up to his death and worried about the terror group's growing presence inside Libya.
The director of the U.S. National Counterterrorism Center says it is unlikely that Stevens and the three other Americans were killed by random protesters.
FBI agents arrived in Libya on Tuesday to join other U.S. and Libyan officials investigating the attack.
Stevens graduated from UC Berkeley and UC Hastings.
