Parents angered by school letter about sexual assault

SAN JOSE, Calif.

A teacher at the O.B. Whaley Elementary School faces trial next month for alleged lewd conduct with one of his young students. The school's principal was convicted of a misdemeanor for not reporting it happened.

Now, some parents are upset about a letter sent by Evergreen Superintendent Katherine Gomez. It says some students will be enrolled in child abuse prevention workshops. It also defended the principal involved and blamed the teacher for hampering the investigation.
