Fewer shoppers are going to Target stores and the company's recent data breach is likely to blame.

Today's Wall Street Journal reports the number of transactions at Target stores fell up to four percent over the weekend.

Other retailers did not see a similar fall. Target isn't confirming the sales loss. But a retail analyst says this is the worst possible time for shoppers to avoid the discount retailer, since the final weekend before Christmas is usually one of the busiest shopping periods of the season.
