Zookeepers at Sydney's Taronga Zoo finally got a glimpse of a newborn kangaroo after nine months of waiting.

The Goodfellow's Tree Kangaroo is an endangered species native to Papua New Guinea.

The mother gave birth last September, but this is the first time the baby has peeked out from its mother's pouch.

He is expected to take his first steps later this month or perhaps in early April.
