You may soon be able to turn a spooky day trip into a scary sleepover.

The Winchester Mystery House just received a special use permit that could allow for overnight stays at the world famous landmark in San Jose.

Overnights wouldn't be allowed in any of the 160 or so rooms in the main house, but guests could stay in other buildings surrounding the allegedly haunted mansion. This may include the pump house and caretaker's residence.

The special use permit also allows the existing café to be turned into a full restaurant.

Legend has it that Sarah Winchester added rooms and false doors to confuse evil spirits of the people shot by Winchester firearms.

No word yet as to when people could start sleeping over.
