Finney confronts photographer who didn't deliver photos

FAIRFIELD, Calif. (KGO) -- Here is a follow up on a photographer who took pictures of a youth league team, but never delivered the photos. 7 On Your Side's Michael Finney had been looking for the photographer for months and we finally found him.

We first reported about this photographer back in April. After our report aired, we heard from other consumers who had run-ins, but we never caught up with photographer Clyde Jones, until now.

The Vacaville Christian Junior Falcons and their parents wanted to remember moments from the kids' games.

"We had a photographer come out and take some pictures and cashed all our checks, and take all our money and didn't produce any pictures," Gina Garret from the Vacaville Christian Junior Falcons said.

That photographer was Jones; and after a while, he stopped returning their phone calls and didn't return ours either. So Finney went looking for him.

He wasn't at the business address indicated on his website. He wasn't at his last known personal address in Fairfield either.

We aired a report and heard from others who told us they were taken in by Jones too. Among them was Amy Wilkerson of Elk Grove.

"I was a program director for the Elk Grove PAL Dukes," Wilkerson said.

PAL stands for Police Athletic League and the Dukes are a youth football team. Jones took pictures for the Dukes and never delivered.

"I thought it was just us. I thought it was just us and then I saw your story," Wilkerson said.

And she also saw Jones working at a local business and that's where we caught up to him too.

Finney: "Hey Clyde. Michael Finney here from Channel 7. How are you?"

Jones: "I'm doing alright."

Finney: "Very good. Hey, we've got a lot to talk about. We got a lot of complaints about you and your photography business."

Jones: "Let's talk outside."

Finney: "Sure. Be happy to."

So Jones and Finney head outside to talk.

Jones: "So I understand there have been complaints and I am trying to resolve it. I've been homeless for a while and I am trying to get back on my feet to get things resolved."

Finney: "You know I am seeing you sit there at a computer. Couldn't you just put them up on the computer, at least let everybody get access to it?"

Jones: "That's work, I can't do that... I am going to be doing that pretty soon."

And he did. Within hours of our visit, Wilkerson received a text from Jones that read: "Just sent you a link to drop box. I will put everything in there. The cheer is in there, more coming tonight."

And the long awaited photos followed.

There were no printed photos produced yet, but customers are getting some digital pictures that can be downloaded.
