ABC7 Star Scholar: San Jose's Stuti Vishwabhan

SAN JOSE, Calif. (KGO) -- ABC7 is recognizing seven Bay Area high school seniors for their extraordinary achievements and awards each with a $1,000 scholarship toward his or her college education. Here's a look at a [url HREF="http://abc7news.com/education/about-abc7-star-scholars/25733/" TARGET="" REL=""]Star Scholar[/url] from the South Bay who's dedicated to teaching seniors technology.[br /][br /]Stuti Vishwabhan loves science, math and technology.[br /][Ads /][br /]The San Jose teen and recent Presentation High School graduate says all the logic involved resonates with her "puzzle solving nature."[br /][br /]"There are a lot of on campus clubs here at Presentation like the women in computer science club the math and science academy," she said. "My involvement in those has really shaped my interest and furthered my interest in the stem field."[br /][br /]That's why this ABC7 Star Scholar is headed to Massachusetts in the fall to study electrical engineering and computer science at MIT.[br /][br /]"One of my dream jobs has always been being like the CEO of my own tech company," she said. "I want to inspire other workers, I want to be engaged in a lot of philanthropy and help other communities."[br /][br /]At Presentation High School, Stuti is known for her academic excellence as well as her community service both on and off campus. In fact, she just received an award for it.[br /][br /]That's just one of many accolades she's accepted for founding the organization "Teach Seniors Technology."[br /][br /]"We teach senior citizens how to use different tech devices," said Stuti.[br /][Ads /][br /]"Service of course is what she's known for but I think she really relates to her friends and to her peers, she's very collaborative with other students," said her college counselor Marylynne Rodriguez.[br /][br /][b]Natasha:[/b] "What does it mean to you to be an ABC7 Star Scholar?"[br /][b]Stuti:[/b] "As a kid I would watch the ABC7 Star Scholar program and I'd be so inspired by all the things the other scholars were doing so to be considered is such a great honor to me."[br /][br /][b]You can watch our ABC7 Star Scholar special on Saturday, July 30 at 7:30 p.m.[br /][br /]Do you know a change-maker in your community?
