It's a case that caused outrage throughout the country - a Texas teenager who was sentenced to probation after he killed four people while driving drunk. His defense, referred to as "affluenza", was that he was raised too spoiled to know right from wrong.

Lawyers told a Texas court that 16-year-old Ethan Couch was too spoiled to to go prison after he got drunk, piled seven other friends unto his father's suped up pickup truck and plowed into a disabled car - instantly killing four people.

Eleven others were injured. His legal team said Ethan would be better served in easier rehab than doing hard time.

Couch pleaded guilty to four counts of intoxication and manslaughter, but was sentenced to ten years probation and rehab.

"Ethan learned you should be able to do what you want to do when you want to do it," said his lawyer.

"I think that was the message generally," responded Dr. Dick Miller.

All the victim's families eventually settled their civil lawsuits against the Couches. But one of the injured, Lucas McConnell, wanted justice.

"I feel like it needed to be done...Because I haven't seen any punishment," he said.

McConnell's lawyers forced the Couches to talk for the first time in these depositions obtained exclusively by ABC News.

When asked by lawyers when the last time she recalled disciplining Ethan for anything, his mother, Tonya Couch, responded: "I don't remember."

The millionaires' son lived alone in a 4,000 square foot home with a pool and wet bar.

"Was there always alcohol there at that house?" asked Ethan's lawyer.

"Not always," said Ethan. "Most of the time, yes."

Ethan rattles off a list of drugs shocking for anyone, much less a 16-year-old.

"Umm, I've taken Valium, uh, Hydrocodone, marijuana, cocaine, Xanax, umm and I think I tried ecstasy once. Pretty sure

that was it," he said.

Ethan also revealed just how little he remembers from that fateful night behind the wheel.

He stated he didn't really remember pulling out of the driveway.

"And what's tht next thing you recall?" asked the lawyer.

"Umm, waking up handcuffed to the hospital bed," said Ethan.
