Official: U.S. service member killed in attack by Afghan soldier

AFGHANISTAN (KGO) -- A U.S. official confirms one U.S. service member was killed in a shooting attack by an Afghan soldier. Two other U.S. troops were wounded. According to an Afghan police chief it happened after a meeting between country leaders and a U.S. embassy official. He says the Afghan soldier opened fire "right after the U.S. official left."

American troops returned fire, killing the Afghan soldier.
