A fatal shooting on Tuesday, just a block from the /*U.C. Berkeley*/ campus is under investigation.
Witnesses report two men were arguing when the shooting happened. They heard five successive shots around 4:00 p.m. Tuesday afternoon near Bowditch and Durant streets.
Family members say the man who died is Maceo Smith who worked for Oakland's Park and Recreation Department. They say he had a wife and three children and he coached little league.
Police are interviewing a possible suspect who drove himself to Oakland's Highland Hospital to be treated for a gunshot wound.
The victim was not a UC student.
This is the fifth murder in Berkeley this year.
