Rene Rubio allegedly assaulted the victim shortly after 6 p.m. at a home at 658 San Juan Grade Road, according to the sheriff's office.
Rubio allegedly struck her with the wire, causing wounds to her back and leg, according to the sheriff's office. Sheriff's officials said the incident was witnessed by the woman's 4-year-old child.
Rubio left the home is still at large. He is described as Hispanic, about 5 feet 9 inches tall and 165 pounds with brown eyes and black hair, according to the sheriff's office.
