The initial shootings were reported at about 11:55 p.m. in the 5000 block of Mission Street, Tomioka said.

Officers were called to the scene of what appeared to be some sort of hip-hop function, she said.

There was a huge group of people near the intersection of Mission Street and Geneva Avenue, according to Tomioka, who said a 19-year-old man was then shot by police near a Beacon gas station at the intersection.

The suspect and the two victims were all taken to San Francisco General Hospital with injuries that are not believed to be life-threatening, Tomioka said.
