The scared animal tried to hide under a squad car in San Pablo overnight.

Police had just pulled up to the intersection of the Richmond Parkway and Goodrick Avenue around 1:30 a.m. to check reports of a seal scampering around on the highway, when the pup immediately headed for cover. This is just a few feet from the bay.

Officers called the Marine Mammal Center to scoop up the seal and bring it to their rehabilitation facility in Sausalito.
