Police have put out an alert for an Oakland mother, after an infant was found dead in her home.
Police are concerned because the mother, Mele Penitani, has taken off with her 3-year-old daughter.
Officers responded to the apartment on 22nd Avenue Wednesday afternoon after neighbors complained about a foul odor.
That's when they found the baby dead inside.
