Marin County Fire Department Battalion Chief Mike Giannini said the timber and grass fire was reported at 2:25 p.m. at 5200 Lucas Valley Road.

There were no evacuations and no structures were threatened, Giannini said.

Lucas Valley Road was closed to all but emergency vehicles, Giannini said. The California Highway Patrol reported the road re-opened around 4:15 p.m.
