Oakland to pay $1.2M to settle lawsuit

The city of Oakland will now pay $1.2 million to settle a federal lawsuit over a 2007 shooting by a police officer.

Charles Davis Junior, 49, was suspected of burglarizing a church when he was shot in the back by officer Hector Chavez.

The unarmed Davis was left paraplegic. His attorney says the money will help pay for his basic needs of living as a disabled person.
