The Metropolitan Transportation Agency has released a report recommending meters be enforced seven days a week, and as late as midnight in certain neighborhoods including the Mission, North Beach and Union Square. They also recommend meters not be free on Sundays.

The agency says these changes could bring in an extra $9 million a year.

For now, these are just preliminary suggestions. The findings will be formally presented next week.
