Grilled cheese sandwich with prosciutto
Serves 2
Ingredients:
- 2 thick slices high quality bread, such as Acme Sweet Batard or Sourdough
- 2 tsp of butter (high quality local butter), a room temperature
- 2 oz of Cypress Grove Chevre Truffle Tremor, aged goat milk cheese
- 2 tsp of Californian organic honey
- 8 Thin Slices of La Quercia Prosciutto
- Spread butter on the inside of each slice of bread and then drizzle each slice with the honey.
- On one slice of the bread place the prosciutto on top of the butter and honey and then the cheese. Top with the second slice of bread.
- Heat equal amounts of butter and olive oil in a frying pan, about a tablespoon each, and pan fry each side of the sandwich two minutes per side, or until browned.
- To finish, place the frying pan in the oven at 450 degrees for about 4-5 minutes or until golden brown and the cheese is melted.
